Team Cena def. Team Authority (Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match)
ST. LOUIS — Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s reign of
power over WWE came to an end at Survivor Series as Team Cena triumphed
over Team Authority, but that’s not the only thing people were tweeting
about on Sunday night. The shocking arrival of Sting — the single
biggest sports-entertainment figure to never set foot in a WWE ring — at
a pivotal moment in the main event stunned not only The Authority, but
the entirety of the WWE Universe.
The sight of the iconic WCW star standing face-to-face with The Game provided a dizzying conclusion to a match that continually built upon its own insanity. Who saw the early dismissal of Mark Henry coming? Or Big Show turning his back on John Cena and shaking the hand of Triple H? Or Dolph Ziggler becoming the only surviving member of Team Cena in a heroic, gutsy performance that should be talked about for a long time to come? The entirety of this lengthy epic was a heart-in-your-throat thrill ride. And then Sting showed up. It was almost too much to handle. Thanks to some help from Sting, Ziggler and Team Cena reign supreme! Thanks to some help from Sting, Ziggler and Team Cena reign supreme!

‘Rape is Rape!’ – Nollywood Actress Stephanie Okereke Reacts To Brother’s Rape Allegation
Over the weekend, the news of an alleged rape by a brother of Nollywood queen, Stephanie Linus (nee Okereke) made the headlines.
Daniel Okereke was alleged to have driven a 22-year-old University of
Lagos student to his house in Mende, Maryland where with the help of
his security guards, overpowered her and raped her multiple times. The
victim reported the matter to the police station and accompanying
medical report confirms that penetration did occur during the encounter,
police say.
Linus has released a statement to The Trent, Monday, November 24, 2014 on the matter in which she says she is ”distraught and devastated” over the allegations against her brother and she affirmed her commitment to her advocacy against rape and sexual violence of any kind and cautioned that the law be allowed to take its course. The statement which was titled, Rape is Rape, Regardless of Who the Face of the Accused Is, condemned the act of rape and applauded the bravery of the victim in reporting the matter.
The actress who recently produced a documentary, Dry, on the horrors child marriages and the devastating effects on women with a focus on Vesico Vaginal Fistula frowned at media using her name to sensationalise the alleged rape story. She called on media to be responsible in reporting the matter.
Her full statement is reproduced below:

Her full statement is reproduced below:
I am distraught and devastated to
hear of the recent allegation of rape brought against a relative of
mine, Daniel Okereke (my brother).
While it is a very difficult time for
me, and my family; I feel the need to make clear my position, lest
there be any doubt. Rape is rape, regardless of who the face of the
accused is.
Indeed, the irony is not lost on me. I
have spent my lifelong career advocating and living my conviction that
women around the world should be able to live free of violence, sexual
harassment or any form of abuse against their persons. This conviction
led me to be involved in numerous initiatives combating violence against
women in several countries including the U.S, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
The conviction also led me to place
much of my energy on my work with Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF), a
passion that dates back to my time at the University of Calabar.
As a student, I heard a story about
young girls who had been forced into early marriage and were suffering
the negative and embarrassing effects of VVF. The story stayed in my
consciousness and drove me, for years, to seek ways to raise awareness
on the condition; leading to my work with a team of dedicated doctors to
carry out repair surgeries for VVF victims across the country; and my
self-produced, soon to be released movie, ‘DRY.’
So, again, it is indeed heart
breaking for me to receive and deal with news alleging a family member
of mine is an alleged perpetrator of sexual violence against a woman. I
am devastated.
This case is now in Nigeria’s
criminal justice system as the accused awaits arraignment. I have also
encouraged and assured the alleged victim of my stance against rape and
applaud her for her bravery to upset the culture of silence, in Nigeria;
even as I accord deference and patiently wait for the criminal justice
system to determine the guilt or innocence of my brother.
For Nigerian press and blogs; I call
on you to please report this case in an ethical manner. I am a married
woman living my life. The alleged transgression of my relative does not
make it mine. The focus should be the impact of rape on the alleged
victim, and resources for other alleged victims, not me.
Some members of the press and blogs
have turned me into the accuser; using my name for sensational headlines
and putting my images, exclusively, in their stories. This is a form of
victimization of me as a woman, its unethical and extremely hurtful. I
am not the alleged accused.
I therefore please ask all bloggers
and the media who have placed my pictures and name to this story to
refrain from further using me to sensationalise this story.
I thank my fans, and all well-wishers for your continued support and ask for your continued prayers.
God bless.
Stephanie Okereke’s Brother, Daniel, Arrested For Raping UNILAG Student (PICTURED)
A 300 level UNILAG female student (name withheld) has accused the cousin
of former Director–General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE),
President, Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke of raping her several times.
According to her, the suspect, Prince Daniel Okereke, 37, lured her into his home at Mende, Maryland, Lagos, on November 6th, subdued her with the aid of his security guards before pouncing on her and raping her serialy.
Speaking with journalists, the 22-year-old victim, revealed that she met the accused online.
“We became friends online and I gave him my number. He kept calling requesting to see me in school and I kept giving him one excuse or the other. He actually said that he wanted me to be his friend and I declined that I am a student and should be allowed to face my studies. On November 6, 2014, he called me that he was in my school compound. I was sick and told him that I was about to head to the pharmacy to get drugs.
“He volunteered to drive me to the pharmacy. I was impressed and grateful for such a kind gesture. After buying the drugs, we drove to the fast food and bought food. He asked me to join him to a sit-out joint where I could relax and eat the food. I was surprised when he drove straight to his house at Mende, Maryland.
“When we got to his house, I told him that I was not interested in having sex with him, he called two of his security guards to help him to tie me up and seal my mouth. He then brought out his belt and started flogging me. He raped me several times till he was satisfied. He later removed the ropes and ordered me to get out of his house. I was in pains and knew that since the law will finally release him because of his status, I needed to destroy anything within reach. It was his neighbour, whose car was destroyed, that alerted the police at Area F, Ikeja.
“I wrote my statement and went to the hospital for examination. I was not surprised when I was told that he was granted bail the same day. My family had to report the matter to Panti and he was re-arrested.”
Tendering his side of the story, Prince Daniel, a businessman, who is also related to Nigerian actress, Stephanie Okereke, blamed the devil for the act.
“I am so ashamed of myself. We are a family of professionals whom you know very well. I don’t know what got into my head. I am sorry and plead for forgiveness,” Daniel, who said he was single and still searching, pleaded.
When asked why she destroyed the property in his house, Prince Daniel said: “She thought I was going to force her to have sex with me. She started destroying everything which is so expensive. Yes, I had sex with her. I am very sorry, I need a way out.”
Confirming the story, Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu said that the suspect would be charged to court for rape and assault.
According to him, the medicsl report got from Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, showed that there was actual penetration in the course of the squabble.
“He will be arraigned along side with one of the security men who assisted him to subdue the victim”.
Meanwhile, the police is still on the trail of one of the security guards who participated in assisting the man to tie her up

Write Boko Haram to stop attacks, CAN President tells Sultan of Sokoto
The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor has called on the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, to write a letter to members of Boko Haram to stop their attacks just as he did to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Pastor Oritsejafor made the call today at a 2-day meeting in Abuja with Senior Special Assistants on Religious Affairs to all state governors.
“His Eminence said he wrote a letter to ISIS, I have to truly congratulate you for that because that was a very good move. I didn’t know about it until today and I am so glad it happened. But I want to appeal that you also write to Boko Haram because Boko Haram is worst than ISIS.They have killed more people than ISIS, they have caused more atrocities than ISIS; they need to be written to as well, it is very important it will help. I have made an appeal several times that there are some of our leaders who must come together, religious, political and traditional. They must come and discuss.’’ he said

100 Naira Note
The Federal Government (FG) on November 12, 2014 unveiled the new
design for the N100 commemorative centenary banknote which will be
officially issued on December 19.
However, the office of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has been inundated with calls for action on the Jewish symbol on the new one hundred naira note slated for flag-off in December. Nigerian Muslims are complaining that the Arabic writing in Hausa language (the Ajami script) that read ‘Naira Dari’ (i.e. one hundred naira) on the N100 note has been removed and replaced with the Jewish symbol, the Star of David.
As a faith-based human rights organization which believes in the dialogue option, MURIC is duty bound to articulate the demands of Nigerian Muslims particularly on matters which have to do with imbalance in governments’ (Federal or state) treatment of the adherents of the different religions.
MURIC recalls that Arabic inscriptions which have always been on Nigerian currency since independence were unceremoniously removed in 2005 from N5, N10, N20 and N50 denominations. They remained on N100, N200, N500 and N1,000 denominations.
Nigerian Muslims regard the latest action, namely, the supplanting of Arabic with Jewish symbol from the new N100 as a continuation of the campaign of elimination by substitution against Arabic language and, by implication, against Nigerian Muslims. It is well known that a large section of the Nigerian population use the Arabic Ajami and removing it from the new note will deprive millions of users of the Arabic Ajami of the ability to recognize, identify and use the new currency.
Furthermore, putting the Jewish symbol on the new N100 falls short of international standard as currencies worldwide are designed to suit each nation’s culture and history. Where does the Jewish symbol fit in? Which Nigerian community speaks the Jewish language? The insertion of the Jewish symbol is therefore clannish and parochial. It is tainted with undisguised religious fanaticism.
There is nothing wrong for our president to like Israel as a nation but it is another thing entirely to openly and brazenly promote Zionism at the highest office in this country when we are still struggling with the last vestiges of colonialism. Nigerian Muslims are becoming increasingly suspicious and very uncomfortable with the actions and inactions of President Jonathan.
Firstly, in spite of the preponderance of Muslims in the South West, he appointed no single Muslim as minister in the whole region for almost four years. Secondly, he marginalized Muslims in the deliberations which took place in the National Conference by appointing a meager 189 Muslims as against 303 Christians. What kind of leader pursues such gross imbalance in his policies by giving a higher number of delegates to a minority group? How can deliberations of such a conference receive popular acceptance? Thirdly, Mr. President saturated the security system in Aso Rock with Israeli security operatives, a nation well known for its animosity towards Muslims. The supplanting of Arabic language with Jewish symbol is the fourth among Jonathan’s anti-Muslim policies.
The above are daring, divisive, reckless and highly provocative steps. They get Nigerians wondering where President Jonathan is taking this country. But if once is happenstance, if twice is a coincidence and if the third time is enemy action, what do we call the fourth time? We are sick and tired of our president’s hatred for us. He openly confronts Muslims and goads us to challenge him.
But we will not be provoked. Neither shall we be intimidated by executive maladministration. As apostles of dialogue and advocates of peaceful coexistence, as tax-payers, voters and citizens of this country, we hereby ask President Jonathan to explain the Jewish symbol on Nigeria’s money.
We also demand to know why the presidency could not employ security experts from neutral countries like Britain or France instead of Israel which is a sworn enemy of Muslims. Mr. President may also deem it fit to tell us if there is no correlation between the Israeli security experts in Aso Rock, the Israeli caught with Nigeria’s N9.3m arms money in South Africa and the Jewish symbol on the new N100 note.
Mr. President sir, are you not gradually selling Nigeria to Israel? And are you sure this will not attract the wrath of Israel’s enemies to our dear country? Can this also be partly responsible for the viciousness of the Boko Haram phenomenon?
MURIC appeals to Muslims nationwide to await President Jonathan’s response to the above questions and to remain calm and law abiding. Islam teaches tolerance (Qur’an 3:134) and obedience to constituted authority (Qur’an 4:59).
We must also eschew violence as stipulated in Qur’an 2:190. Instead of using illegal and unconstitutional means, we charge Muslims to explore every opportunity offered by the Nigerian constitution and the Nigerian democratic process to protest against Jonathan’s oppression of Nigerian Muslims. Tyrants can be taught lessons of their lives in times of elections.

Sunday Night fact: 6 Ways Sitting Too Long Is Killing You
With sitting being deemed the new smoking, we give you a reality check of the damage that over-sitting incurs on you.
That
office chair, couch, cushion or bean bag isn’t the real culprit. It’s
your lazy habit of parking yourself in a spot that is silently ringing
the death knell for you. It’s tough to avoid sitting if you work in an
office environment (unless you have a standing desk like some new-age
workplaces abroad). On your day off, you tend to laze around the house
or, worse, be a smug couch potato, chomping on fast food in front of the
television as an excuse for leisure. A recent study found that people
who sat for more than 11 hours a day had a 40% higher chance of dying
within three years. The risk was much lower for working executives who
exercised five hours — or more — a week. However, exercise doesn’t
negate the following dangers.- Lower body problems: Poor circulation in the legs can lead to swollen ankles, varicose veins and more hazardous DVT (deep vein thrombosis). Health experts also blame the rise in cases of osteoporosis to desk jobs and lack of activities like running that stimulate hip and lower-body bones to grow thicker and stronger. Scientists partially attribute the recent surge in cases of to lack of activity.
- Chronic disease: Did you know that if you sit for more than four hours a day, you are more likely to have a chronic disease like high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and cancer? A survey in Australia found that the more time participants spent sitting, the more likely they were to have one of these chronic diseases, regardless of their BMI (body mass index) or even an exercise routine.
- Poor mental well-being: Who doesn’t want to unwind on the couch after a taxing day at work? However, it could be counter-productive for your mind. A study analysing the association between mental well-being and a sedentary lifestyle found that non-occupational sitting time — vegetating in front of the TV, watching films on a laptop, for instance — had a negative impact of women’s mental health in particular. Mental functioning slows down too.
- Kidney disease: Those who sit less have a lower risk of chronic kidney disease. This was found to be especially true for women — when they reduce their sitting time from a full eight-hour workday to only three, their risk for kidney disease falls by 30% while for men it is 15%. The end result could be complete kidney failure.
- Adult metabolic syndrome: Obesity is a pretty obvious outcome, but the whammy is Metabolic Syndrome that accompanies it. A combination of obesity, low levels of good cholesterol, high blood pressure or hyperglycaemia puts you at higher risk of metabolic syndrome, which could lead to serious conditions like heart disease, stroke and diabetes. The risk is as high as 73%! Researchers found that reducing TV and computer exposure to less than one hour a day outside office could reduce your chances of succumbing to adult metabolic syndrome.
- Muscle degeneration: With extended sitting, the glutes get soft since they are used to doing nothing. This can affect your stride. Your abdominal muscles keep you straight when you are standing or walking, but bend forward or slump back in a chair, and your back muscles tighten while your abs go lax. This deadly combination effects the spine’s natural arch, leading to hyperlordosis (swayback). Chronic sitters don’t use their hip flexor muscles much, so the hips get tight and your range of motion is limited. This affects your movement as well.
– Try to answer phone calls standing up or walking around.
– If your office doesn’t provide a standing desk, find a high table or counter.
– Rather than gathering around the water cooler for a chat with your colleagues, walk around the premises with them.
– Take the stairs as often as you can. Ditching the lift will increase the blood flow to your brain too, energising you instantly.
– Take five-minute breaks to get up from your chair and clear your head every couple of hours. It will help you focus better.
– Walk around your building during lunch time. If you don’t have the space, use the footpath outside or find a park nearby.
– Find a corner where you can do stretching exercises.

Nokia Won’t Be Making Phones Anymore!, so sad already
First off, as sad as this sounds, and despite some unsubstantiated rumors, Nokia doesn’t plan on making phones anymore. “We are not looking to a direct consumer return to handsets per se,” were his actual words. Still, there is a silver lining, and it is that there is an extremely high interest in licensing the brand, he added, so at some point in the longer term the Nokia name “will return to the consumer world.” Now, whether this will be with phones, or other devices and maybe services, remains to be seen, but the hopes that Nokia will quickly start churning out Android handsets seems dead and buried now.
As for the other aspects of the company, the CEO mentioned that it won’t have its HERE brand of navigation software compete directly with Google Maps, but instead rely on third-party licensees like Amazon, Microsoft or Yahoo, in business-to-business partnerships. We’d say that with the release of the beta app for Android and iOSthis ship had sailed, as the app offers options lacking in Google Maps, like offline navigation, but whatever rocks the boat. Nokia’s CEO expects that all three business units – Networks, Technologies and the mapping business – will be returning to growth and profitability very soon, but it’s the end of the line for Nokia phones piece that strikes us the most in the end

Only I can save Lagos from Tinubu – Obanikoro says again
The immediate past Minister of State for
Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, says he is the only person that can wrest
power from the All progressives Congress in Lagos. He speaks against the former governor of Lagos state again in the same week after saying lthe former governor has turned lagos to his ATM.
He added that he was the only one that
could rescue the state from the influence of a former Governor of Lagos
State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who is believed to have been largely
responsible for the success the APC had been experiencing at the polls
since 1999.
Obanikoro said this while addressing
party leaders and supporters at the state secretariat of the Peoples
Democratic Party where he announced his intention to contest in the
state’s governorship election.
“It is time to liberate Lagos from Bola
Tinubu, the emperor of Bourdillon. It is time for Tinubu to go. This
state has been ruled by one man for the past 16 years,” he said.
The former minister told members of the
party that it was time for all of them to be united and understand that
they were all fighting one enemy- the APC.
Obanikoro would have to defeat his
biggest rival, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, at the primaries next month in order to
clinch the ticket of the party.
He, therefore, told members of the party
that only a person who had experience in governance could improve the
fortunes of the state.
Obanikoro, who has served as a local
government chairman, a senator, a High Commissioner and a minister,
urged members of the party to vote at the primaries based on experience,
not sentiments.
He said, “Experience can never be
purchased. This state has been ruled by one man for the past 16 years
and I can tell you that only those who have served in government can
make meaningful change.
“Those who don’t have experience cannot
make meaningful change, they will only go there to start learning
governance and we don’t need an apprentice governor in Lagos. See the
quantum debt sustained by the APC in this state. Only one person can win
and fix Lagos and that is Obanikoro.”
The governorship aspirant dispelled rumours that he was a violent man.
He argued that he had never been found wanting ever since he joined active partisan politics.
While pointing at his two sons that
attended the event, he said, “I have been married for 34 years. Is there
anywhere in the world where a thug has been married for that long? Look

Beyonce opens up about parents divorce in new single, 'Ring Off'
On the track, Beyonce sings;
Mama, I understand your many sleepless nights . When you sit and you think about Father. Or how you tried to be the perfect wife/ You used to dress and fix your hair . Then you smiled through your tears . In the mirror you would stare . And say a prayer lLike, “I wish he said I’m beautiful . I wish it didn’t hurt at all. I don’t know how I got here . I was once the one who had his heart”/Until you had enough then you took that ring off .
You took that ring off. So tired of the lies and trying, fighting, crying. Took that ring off . Oh, now the fun begins . Dust yourself off and you love again. You found a new man now you shine and you’re fine . Like it’s my time, you took that ring off...

Obanikoro says Tinubu has turned Lagos into his ‘ATM’
A former Minister and the Peoples Democratic Party’s gubernatorial
aspirant in Lagos State, Musiliu Obanikoro, has accused the national
leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, of turning
the state to his personal ATM (Automated Teller Machine).
The politician accused the ex-Lagos governor of drawing state funds for his personal needs.
Obanikoro made this accusation while speaking to members of his K’oro Nation’ group on Tuesday in Lagos.
According to him, “For almost 16 years, one man has turned all Lagosians to his ATM. How long can we continue to accept that?,” he said.
He also said the Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge, which he ranked as the most expensive in the world, is a scam.
“Fashola’s Lekki to Ikoyi Bridge is the most expensive bridge in the world. The Lekki to Ikoyi Bridge was christened ‘Cable Bridge’, there is nothing cable about that bridge and the christening of the bridge ‘cable’ is a 419 act in itself”, he said.
“Lagosians don’t ask questions, those who ask get abused,” Obanikoro added

FAILURE TO REACH 2015 AFCON: Nigeria will bounce back, we take full responsibility
The Nigeria Football Federation have promised the Super Eagles will bounce back from the failure to qualify for next year’s AFCON while accepting full responsibility for the team’s results, AfricanFootball.com reports. The African champions battled back to draw with South Africa in Uyo on Wednesday, when the narrowest margin of victory was needed, and left the country’s teeming football fans in sour mood. But NFF President Amaju Pinnick stated that it was a time for sober reflection rather than trading of blames or looking for scapegoats. “The NFF takes full responsibility for what has happened,” AfricanFootball.com quoted Pinnick as saying. “It is a tragedy for us to come so near and yet fail to reach the finals. We made so much effort and sacrifice in Congo to achieve the victory we needed there on Saturday and really had no business bungling it here. “However, our commitment is to build a sustainable football culture in the country and nothing has changed. This is a disappointment but for us, we gave it our best shot and supported the team fully.” Pinnick said Wednesday’s failure could turn out to be blessing in disguise. “All things work together for good for those that love God, according to Romans 8:28. This has happened but we believe it will work together for us to toil hard and achieve a renaissance that will take Nigeria football to much higher heights than it has ever been,” he added. “I use this opportunity to thank the Akwa Ibom State Government for all the support they gave the team and the assistance they offered the NFF.
Senate President, Mark, Orders Immediate Closure Of National Assembly
The Senate President, David Mark, has announced an immediate closure of the National Assembly after an attempt to stop the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, from the assembly, plunged the complex into chaos.
Police fired teargas to push back a surging crowd Thursday after Mr. Tambuwal was denied access thrice before his loyalists smuggled him into the House of Representatives’ chamber later.
Apparently invoking his powers as the chairman of the National Assembly, Mr. Mark announced an immediate adjournment of the two chambers till Tuesday to forestall a breakdown of law and order.
Mr. Mark had reportedly met Mr. Tambuwal in solidarity after the speaker successfully gained access into the chamber.
The House of Representatives was in session at the time of the announcement, and it is yet unclear whether the Reps members will abide by Mr. Mark’s declaration.
